Orton Pyrometric Cones are available at Savings to you. We offer popular sizes and styles.

  • Pyrometric Cones measure temperature inside a kiln by absorbing heat. As the cone nears its maturing range, it softens and the tip begins to bend, drawn down by gravity.

  • To minimize breakage during shipping: 

    Orton cones are packed via 2 cones adhered together. To SEPARATE, hold a set of cones by the base of each then carefully but firmly twist.

1-1/8"H. Used mostly for automatic kilns. 50 cones per box.

B) Large Orton Cones

2-3/8"H. Used in non-automatic kilns. 50 cones per box.

C) Self-Supporting Orton Cones

2-3/8"H. Ready to use without mounting. Correct height & angle are built into the cone base. 25 cones per box.
